Where "Getting to Know Self" means developing into the Best Version of You!
Providing Positive Activities & Promoting Positive Values
The following workshops are offered for children & teens between 8 - 16.
Building Self-Confidence, Personal Responsibility, Critical Thinking Skills, Social Etiquette, Peacebuilding & Conflict Resolution, Money Matters, Culinary Arts, Tradition & Culture, STEM, Ownership & Entrepreneurism, Recognizing and Coping with Mental Health Issues, Performing Arts & Essential Life Skills.
Each workshop will present to a maximum of 12 participants. Be sure to follow our social media and website for information about workshops' locations, dates & times.
Program available to children between the ages of 5 - 13 at Andrew Currie Recreation Center, Shreveport, LA
Etiquette Class is for young ladies between the ages of 12-18
Register for NOMIE for Youth's 2nd Annual VIRTUAL 5K Run/Walk! Registration is $28 & you will receive a commemorative t-shirt to wear on the day of the event!
Registrants may participate in the 5K from their own convenient location. On event day, please post pictures and/or videos on the social media site of your choice. Be sure to hashtag #nomie4youth
During this spring, NOMIE for Youth is again offering free grooming services to children in Shreveport, LA. Our organization partnered with local barber and beauty schools to provide these services. Follow us on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter to get updates on our next round of free grooming services!

Congratulations to one of NOMIE for Youth's volunteers! Charmel is a talented fabric artist whose artwork is on display at Southern University Museum of Art in Shreveport, LA. She is a dedicated advocate for the children & we are very proud of her! Way to go, Charmel!
Adrianna Collins - 1st Place & Shamaya Collins - 2nd Place for the NOMIE for Youth Black History Trivia Bowl Contest. Adrianna won $150 in Visa gift cards.
This two-part event allowed the youth to discover their business interests. Then with three weeks to prepare, the Congratulations to Jaxon Joseph, 9. His business plan for "Delighted Cupcakes" won him a $150 gift card. All of the participants put together creative and practical business plans for the judges to review.

There is no registration fee. Workshops are offered free of cost.
On 8/7/21, in partnership with the NAACP-Shreveport and the City of Shreveport Parks & Recreation, NOMIE for Youth provided backpacks, school supplies, food and fun for area children! The event was held at Bilberry Recreation Center in Shreveport, LA.
